About Glacier Crossing Books

The Glacier Crossing brand is inspired by the journey to get to the village where we are headquartered- a small plane ride through a 70 mile mountain pass that is home to Alaskan wild life, cascading waterfalls, and glaciers clinging to the edge of rocky peaks.

Elizabeth Davidson, the founder of Glacier Crossing books, is a wife, mother, and aviation professional. She holds several FAA ratings allowing her to inspect, fix, and fly a variety of small aircraft suitable for the wild Alaskan terrain. Early literacy is essential- from her foundation of her own mother reading to her, to the time she spends investing in reading to her own children, she understands the foundation that reading provides.

“My parents saved several books from my childhood, and now I have the pleasure of reading them to my own children. As I read books I haven’t seen in nearly 30 years, some of the stories and images are very familiar, connecting to very deep memories. It proves to me that this time spent reading books with my kids lays an incredible foundation. I began to wonder what foundation I am laying in my own children’s minds? What are they going to remember when they are my age? And what if I could shape that by writing a book?”
